I had a wonderful time exploring Greeneville yesterday. Today I thought I should do more of the same. But then I thought I should spent the day studying.
And then I thought: it’s Sunday. It’s the day of rest. No matter what, most folks think Sunday is the day to relax, reflect, or simply enjoy being with one another.
Right now I’m alone, many miles from my home and my family and my friends. Two legged, four legged and everyone in between, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy today as a chance to relax and recover.
So that’s what I did. I didn’t study, I didn’t worry about what the following week holds for me. I didn’t do anything that didn’t bring me peace.
I spent a lot of time on my phone, thank goodness for all those rollover minutes I’ve been hoarding! It was wonderful to talk to everyone back home, and hear their stories and adventures. I didn’t allow myself to miss them, just to enjoy hearing their voices.
Strangely enough, being so far away has brought me closer to them. I realize how much they love me, and support me in all the crazy things I do. Like leave home for over two weeks to go to cat school. How lucky I am to have such wonderful friends that are like family, and a family that’s like friends.
I’m ready for you, Week 2!
